[Seth Godin's, a marketing philosopher and some would say genius, sent this to me today. I found it amusing and somewhat insightful.
Let's do this!]
How to lose an argument online
Have an argument. Once you start an argument, not a discussion, you've already lost. Think about it: have you ever changed your mind because someone online started yelling at you? They might get you to shut up, but it's unlikely they've actually changed your opinion.
Forget the pitfalls of Go…

Windproof lighters come in fluid-filled and butane-filled models. The refueling process is what makes these lighters so useful. Rather than purchasing an entirely new lighter each time the old one runs dry, the user simply replace the fuel, and the flints, in some cases, and is able to use the device all over again. There are some safety precautions one must observe when performing this task, however, especiall…

ALL,
Club Puros of Charlotte, NC has completed the collection and packaging of the cigars that we are sending to the troops. We are sending the cigars out this week and wanted to take a minute to thank EVERYONE who donated cigars and their time to this effort. We would also like to send out a special thanks to Craig Cass and the staff of the Tinder Box of the Carolinas stores who served as collection points and stored the cigars for us. There was 230 cigars collected from members and the public…

OK, I got the right picture now, thanks for pointing that out to me :) Love these cigars, 9 inches and 50Ga. Nice even draw the entire length and holds ash very well. I personally don't get much variety in the flavor as I smoke it down, but I like what I get. I would definitely recommend these to everyone. Judge for your…

Lighting a cigar correctly ensures that one gets the best possible flavor from their stogie. This process requires a bit of practice, however, and it is inevitable that novice cigar smokers will get it wrong a few times. One can correct a bad light with a bit of work and, oftentimes, a bad light can be remedied without compromising the flavor of the cigar in any regard. The right lighter is oftentimes the key.
In some cases, the cigar will light properly but only partially. On these occasions,…

Just wanted to say first,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have made this site what it is for me this past year (almost a year I think); all of those who have given/ received PIFs, bombs, secret santa, box splits, trades. The moderators who keep things cool. And Camacho for being our gracious host.
Recent observations/realizations I have discovered today while having a morning cigar & coffee.
Enjoying a good cigar by yourself is not really enjoying a good cigar; it b…

About ten years ago,. just as I started smoking cigars ,. I was invited to go on "a crawl" in New York City.
For those of you not familiar with the term,. a crawl is when a group of cigar smokers go from shop to shop
where they buy cigars and explore the shop.
The day began at Famous Smoke Shop (sadly no longer there) and moved to Barclay Rex opposite. Grand Central
and then to Arnolds (also gone). It was at Arnolds that I was encouraged to try the 1964 Padron Anniversario
Imperial Maduro. It…

It is wonderful to recall how my imagination used to run wild in my younger days. I remember hitting a homerun to win the World Series, running for the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, and marrying my childhood sweetheart --ok it really was her mother.
Today, I still allow my mind to wander however; it is not about touchdowns and homeruns. Today I think about how I could help those on both sides of the tobacco industry; perhaps to modify legislation to be a bit more balanced and be more use…

Butane
cigar lighters are among the most efficient ways to light a cigar. The advantages extend beyond the efficiency to the fact that the fuel imparts no foul taste to the cigar which rather has the effect of ruining an expensive smoke. Some users of these lighters prefer the very fancy models which feature multiple jets and which provide a wider surface on which to light one's stogie. The tradeoff is more fuel usage, for obvious reasons.…
